NewChristianRight.comThe commitments behind everything Pastor Webbon preaches, publishes and broadcasts.
The historic Protestant faith of the Reformation: the sovereignty of God, the final authority of Scripture, and salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — to the glory of God alone. Joel holds to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689).
Ephesians 2:8–9
Jesus Christ is King of kings, not only over the Church but over nations. A Christian nation is a people whose laws, culture and public life openly acknowledge Him — pursued through preaching, family, institutions and lawful civic action.
Psalm 2; Matthew 28:18–20
God's moral law is the standard of justice for every nation. The civil laws of ancient Israel expired with that state, but their underlying justice — their “general equity” — still binds magistrates today.
Westminster Confession 19.4
God calls husbands and fathers to lead, protect and provide for their households with sacrificial, Christlike headship — and holds them accountable for it. Strong families are the foundation of a strong church and a strong nation.
Ephesians 5:22–33
A government's first duty is to its own people. That means secure borders, an economy that serves American families, and a foreign policy guided by the national interest rather than permanent entanglements abroad.
1 Timothy 5:8
Subjects Pastor Webbon is regularly asked to address on air, in print and on stage.
How Scripture speaks to ethnicity, nations and race relations, and where he believes both progressive and secular accounts of race go wrong.
What a Christian view of borders, citizenship and the nations means for American foreign policy and immigration law.
The effects of feminism on marriage, fatherhood, birth rates and the church, and the case for biblical patriarchy.
Why nations are part of God’s design, and what an American nationalism grounded in historic Christianity looks like.
The U.S.–Israel relationship, foreign lobbying and influence in Washington, and what he argues an America First foreign policy requires.
The growth of non-Christian religions in the United States, and why he argues America’s laws and public life should remain Christian.
Before you write, here is what Pastor Webbon actually teaches, in his own framework. Ask a question that isn’t listed.
No. Saving faith is a gift of God and cannot be coerced by the state — the Reformed tradition has always taught this. Christian Nationalism concerns what a nation's laws and public institutions acknowledge, not compelling private belief. The means are preaching the gospel, raising faithful families, building institutions and lawful political participation.
No. Protestant theology distinguishes the authority of the church from the authority of the civil magistrate. Pastors preach and shepherd; they do not hold civil power by virtue of their office. The claim is that magistrates, like every person, are accountable to God's moral law.
General Equity Theonomy follows the Westminster Confession (19.4): the judicial laws given to Israel "expired together with the state of that people," and bind nations today only so far as their general equity — the moral principle of justice behind them — requires. It is a framework for reasoning about justice, not a wholesale import of an ancient legal code.
Scripture teaches that men and women are equally created in the image of God. Biblical patriarchy is about responsibility: husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the Church and will answer to God for how they lead, protect and provide. Its aim is the flourishing of women, children and the whole household.
No. His stated program is peaceful and lawful: preaching, voting, persuasion, raising children in the faith, relocating to build strong communities, and building Christian media and institutions. Scripture commands Christians to honor the governing authorities (Romans 13) while holding them to God's standard.
No. Pastor Webbon has appeared on a wide range of programs — friendly and adversarial, religious and secular — to make the case for his convictions to new audiences. An appearance is an opportunity to speak, not an endorsement of every view held by a host or guest.
NXR — the New Christian Right — is a media company (NXR Studios) producing shows, documentaries, the NXR+ app and the annual NXR Conference, focused on politics and culture. Right Response Ministries, founded in 2019, is a nonprofit focused on biblical teaching, sermons and pastoral resources. He also serves as a local church pastor in Texas.
No. America First means the government weighs every decision — trade, immigration, war — by whether it serves the American people. That allows for strong alliances and a strong military; it rejects sacrificing American families and soldiers for interests that are not their own.
